Plot summary
Ethan Renner, an agent, chases the Albino, lieutenant of an arms trafficker called the Wolf, and blacks out from dizziness during the operation. Hospital tests show terminal cancer and only months to live. He has long hidden his work from his ex-wife Christine and their teenage daughter Zooey, and now wants to rebuild his relationship with them. At his apartment he finds the African family of Jules squatting there; the police tell him he cannot evict them. Christine lets him see Zooey and leaves her in his care while she travels abroad on business. Vivi, a CIA assassin assigned to kill the Wolf, then offers Ethan an experimental drug that might prolong his life if he takes on the trafficker.
