Plot summary
On 22 July 2011, Anders Behring Breivik, dressed in a police uniform, drives a van carrying homemade explosives to the government quarter in Oslo and leaves it near the office of Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg. The blast causes several casualties. On Utøya, an island in Tyrifjorden, teenagers are gathered for a summer camp held by the Labour Party's youth wing. Viljar Hanssen, there with his brother Torje, calls his parents when news of the Oslo explosion reaches the camp. Claiming to be a police officer who has come to guard the island after the attack, Breivik crosses to Utøya. In Oslo, Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg's government faces the attack's aftermath.
