Plot summary
Rose is the unmarried sister of Mae Davis, a conservative Southern widow. The two of them set their minds on finding a suitable girl for Brian, Mae's only son. Then they learn by accident that Brian is gay, and that Dennis, the man they had assumed was merely his roommate, had been his partner for five years. Mae makes her peace with the news, and when she hears that Dennis has gone off with someone else, she decides Brian should not face life alone. Her new project is a husband for her son. With Rose she looks into online dating for gay men and spends an evening at a gay bar, where they get to know drag performers, leathermen and Chase, an art student who strips at the bar.
