Plot summary

At SummerSlam, Shawn Michaels refereed a WWF Championship bout pitting The Undertaker against Bret Hart. Michaels swung a chair at Hart but struck The Undertaker, and Hart left with the match and the title. An earlier bout between the two for a shot at the championship ended in a double disqualification, so they are matched in a Hell in a Cell, and the winner challenges Hart for the belt. Owen Hart meets Faarooq in the final of the tournament for the Intercontinental Championship that Steve Austin vacated after an injury. The Headbangers defend the WWF Tag Team Championship against The Godwinns, and The WWF Champion Bret Hart teams with The British Bulldog against Vader and The Patriot.
