Plot summary
In 1974, Dr. Brendan Ryan shows the Glenville Sanatorium in West Virginia to Dr. Ann Marie McQuaid, taking her through Cell Ward C, where the young Hillicker brothers, Saw Tooth, One Eye and Three Finger, are held. Twenty-nine years later, nine Weston University students ride snowmobiles toward their friend Porter's cabin in the mountains for winter break. A snowstorm leaves them lost, and they take shelter in the sanatorium, unaware the Hillickers live there too. The storm cuts the group off inside the building, and they are glad to be out of the weather. Lauren tells stories about the place and its cannibals, and her friends brush them off.
