Plot summary
Molly holds a degree from Yale and is in her late twenties. She lives in New York City and earns money at a Manhattan brothel, which supports her and her girlfriend, Diane. Dawn studies at college, and Gina hopes to open a boutique; both of them sell sex there too. Lucy, who runs the house, is out shopping, and the women see clients in her absence. They record their appointments in the books as smaller sums than the men actually paid, keeping the difference. Jerry, a construction foreman in middle age and a repeat customer, comes by, and John, another regular, arrives on edge and departs quickly. Gina has lately ended a relationship with a boyfriend, and Molly admits that Diane has no idea about her work.
