Plot summary
Pepa and Iván dub foreign films into Spanish for a living. Iván leaves without explanation and records a message asking her to put his belongings into a suitcase he will come for. Pepa oversleeps, misses a recording session with him, and spends the day trying to reach him with something she needs to tell him. At home her answering machine holds panicked calls from her friend Candela, who is afraid the police are looking for her over her ex-boyfriend's activities. Pepa makes gazpacho, the dish Iván loves, and stirs in sleeping pills in case he comes by. Candela arrives, and Carlos comes to tour the penthouse with his fiancée Marisa.
