Plot summary
Three centuries ago the Lanier family wanted the Whitlock family's properties, so Vanessa Whitlock was accused of witchcraft and buried alive. The Whitlock family still hates the Laniers. Two young descendants, Amy Whitlock and Todd Lanier, fall in love, though Amy's stern uncle, Morgan Whitlock, objects. Todd works with his older brother Bill, developers who plan to renovate the old Whitlock estate. Their business partner Myles Forrester sends workers to bulldoze graves in the old Whitlock Cemetery, enraging Morgan. Vanessa emerges from an exhumed grave, still alive.

Writer Harry Spalding said director Don Sharp "realized the thing very well" and burnt down an actual house to film the climax of Witchcraft.- Witchcraft was filmed in January 1964 at Shepperton Studios just after 110 technicians had been fired from the studio; one account says the shoot lasted 14 days, while director Don Sharp said it took twenty.
- Writer Harry Spalding got the idea for Witchcraft from an incident in San Francisco in which an old cemetery was converted into a real estate development.
