Plot summary
Anna McLaren is in her final year of high school, and her parents have told her that the town's winter dance falls on the same evening as the Christmas Eve service at their church, so the family will be there instead. Anna responds with a wish that her mother and father would lose their faith. The wish comes true. The result is disastrous for her family and for the wider community she lives in. To bring their faith back, Anna is led through a set of Christmas adventures, and those experiences change her heart along with the hearts of the people around her.
