Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Wildling (2018)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- The elaborate cave sequences in Wildling were shot entirely in a Brooklyn warehouse against blue screen, because, as director Fritz Böhm found, real caves do not exist within the 23-mile radius of Columbus Circle, Manhattan, the area the production had to stay inside to qualify for New York City's film incentive program.
- Brad Dourif was initially going to turn down the part of "Daddy" in Wildling, but before actually saying no he asked to speak to director Fritz Böhm first; after they worked through how Dourif wanted to play the character, he decided he wanted to be part of the film.
- During the editing of Wildling, director Fritz Böhm drove to the Redwood National Forest in Northern California by himself to shoot additional nature footage, describing himself as a "one man second unit."
- Production designer Lauren Fitzsimmons said the attic of "Daddy's house," which is seen in the first 15 minutes of Wildling, was a set she built in the same Brooklyn warehouse where the film's cave scenes were shot.
