Plot summary

Geralyn Lucas finishes journalism school at Columbia University and lands her dream job at 20/20. At 27, not long after she starts the job, Geralyn is diagnosed with breast cancer, and the news leaves her with a choice between a lumpectomy and a mastectomy. Geralyn consults several doctors, her husband Tyler among them, and reads up on both operations. She also meets people who have gone through the same illness and who offer her their advice. Geralyn believes that only confident women wear red lipstick, and she tries to keep a positive attitude as she weighs which operation to have.
