Plot summary
As the star of a weekly medical drama, Jason Steel is mobbed by women who confuse him with the part. Each Wednesday he plays poker with Tom, Harry, Sanford, Yoshimi and Leonard, and he tells them that his coming marriage to Melissa, a sculpture teacher, will set an example for all of them. The wives who telephone him during those games, asking for advice about their marriages, are the wives of his friends, something none of the men knows. Jacqueline, married to Tom, visits his house and kisses him, and Charlie, his valet, reads the scene as an affair. Melissa, told by Harry that Jason is useless at work, quarrels with him when he asks to postpone the wedding.
