Allison Hayes

Biography

Allison Hayes was an American actress and model who, after modeling in Washington, D.C. and competing in the Miss America pageant, signed with Universal Pictures in 1954. Her screen debut came in the comedy Francis Joins the WACS, and she had an important part opposite Jack Palance in Sign of the Pagan. A move to Columbia Pictures in 1955 brought her Chicago Syndicate (1955), and she rated her work in Count Three and Pray as the best of her career. The role she became best known for was in Attack of the 50 Foot Woman (1958), as a socialite who grows to giant size after an encounter with an alien; she also appeared in Gunslinger (1956). Television gave her steady work in guest roles and a continuing part on General Hospital, and after a minor role in Tickle Me (1965) her last appearance came in 1967. She died in 1977.
