Plot summary
Anna is a filmmaker in Los Angeles facing her fortieth birthday without a job or a girlfriend, sleeping in the garage of her friend Charlie. Her narrative projects will not get off the ground, and she leans on the reputation of the independent films she made in France, while her hunt for love keeps her from the work. In a vagina costume she performs with backup dancers called the Vaginettes. Close to giving up, she meets Katia Amour and finds a muse. Anna tells her she is putting on Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? again with a woman in every role and offers Katia the lead. Diva Penelope takes over the part Anna wrote for herself, leaving Anna to play opposite her, and crew member Julia becomes fond of Anna.

Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Director Anna Margarita Albelo said the film could have been finished a year earlier on a lower budget, but she wanted a "Hollywood grade" film to fight the stereotype that lesbian films are "niche" and "scrappy" low-budget productions, which hurts the genre's ability to attract funding.
- Anna Margarita Albelo based the film's main character, the filmmaker Anna whom she played herself, on her own life: a Cuban-American dedicated to lesbian and feminist culture who reached 40 without the means to live or a way to move her career forward.
- The film's iconic vagina costume was not made for the film: Anna Margarita Albelo had received it as a gift and used to wear it for fun, drawing both positive and negative responses.
