Plot summary
Calvin Campbell played professional baseball, and when he froze at home plate his career ended. He came back to his hometown and let years pass while he drank to forget the failure. His sixteen-year-old daughter Katie fights for his attention and turns instead to unhealthy relationships. On a trip to the supermarket, Calvin meets Produce, a young man with Down syndrome who works in the fruit and vegetable aisle and helps the shoppers there. Produce answers Calvin's gloom with joy, and Calvin keeps returning for someone to listen.
