Plot summary
Brian Reilly and Paulie McDougan have known each other since they were boys on the tough streets of South Boston, where both are forced to survive through petty thievery. They take up with a gang of criminals and do small jobs for a local boss, chafing at the work they are given. Paulie is the leader of the two. Brian cannot square the thieving and his loyalty to Paulie with his marriage to Stacy and their two young sons. He drinks too much, free bases and ignores his wife and boys. The story is loosely based on a true story.
