Plot summary
Gennaro Quasimodo works as a dutiful finance officer in Italy, and his job is to catch people who fail to pay their taxes. Lorenzo Manzoni is one of them: he sells his wares straight to viewers on a television channel. Their sons are both artists and share an apartment in Paris, so graduation day gives each family a reason to travel to the French capital, where the two households meet.
