Plot summary
Eyal works as a hitman for Mossad, and his wife's recent suicide has shaken him. His chief, Menachem, gives him a less demanding assignment: to find Alfred Himmelman, a former Nazi officer who may still be alive, though no one knows where he is. Himmelman's granddaughter Pia lives on an Israeli kibbutz, and her brother Axel is flying in to see her. Eyal poses as a tourist guide, meets Axel at the airport and drives him to the kibbutz. He also plants a bug in Pia's room and listens for any mention of the old man. On trips around the country the two men grow close, and Axel, who is gay and frank about it, challenges Eyal's bitterness toward Palestinians.
