Villa Amore (2025) on Netflix

Plot summary

Liara works as an efficiency expert in Chicago. Her fiancé Kyle leaves her at the altar, and her widowed mother Maryann tells her to take the honeymoon trip to Italy anyway, to the country where Liara's parents met. About to fly home from Rome, Liara makes a spur-of-the-moment detour to Campena, where her parents' dream villa stands, a house her father always vowed to buy. She finds it listed for one euro and buys it as a keepsake for Maryann, then sees how badly it needs repair. The one-euro villas come with terms: she has a year to make the place livable or face being barred from reentering the European Union. Leo, an American-Italian dual citizen, agrees to help her, while the townspeople view her with suspicion.
