Plot summary
Seven years in, Van Wilder still has not finished his degree at Coolidge College. He hosts parties and fundraisers for the student body, with Hutch as his second in command and Taj Mahal Badalandabad as this year's personal assistant. When his father, Vance Wilder Sr., learns his son is still enrolled, he stops paying the tuition, so Van asks the registrar, Deloris Haver, for a payment extension. The Lambda Omega Omega fraternity offers him a thousand dollars to throw a party, and Gwen Pearson, a reporter at the college paper, credits him as its host in a write-up. Van agrees to a follow-up interview, hoping the coverage pays. Her boyfriend is Richard Bagg, a pre-med student who heads his fraternity and the student government.
