Plot summary
Edward Brockman is stationed at Camp Humphreys in South Korea, and his commanding officer pairs him with Selby to repair a ground-penetrating radar unit near the demilitarized zone. Brockman flies the team north with Josh Weaver, a civilian tech-support specialist, along with Chris Lebold, Jonah Ross, Wilson Lee and Selby. Winds and lightning cripple the helicopter on the way back, and it goes down deep inside North Korea. The pilot, Milner, is badly wounded, and US command cannot send a medevac into unfriendly airspace, so the survivors have to make their way to the DMZ on their own, with Korean People's Army troops searching for them.
