SPOILER
In early rewrites by Gretchen J. Berg and Aaron Harberts, the killer's identity was Dorothy, not Adam, and the killer's disguise was changed from a pig mask in Wayne and Donna Powers' draft to a Cupid mask.- David Boreanaz shot all of his scenes in less than two weeks. Katherine Heigl had only three days to shoot hers because she was already committed to the television series Roswell.
- The soundtrack, featuring Linkin Park, Disturbed, Static-X, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson and Orgy, was lampooned in a Saturday Night Live sketch, which pointed out that many of the bands were unknown to a mass audience and had nonsensical names.
