Plot summary
Kyle's mother hires the private investigators Larry and Ayesha to look into her son's disappearance. In his house they find televisions running white noise, a laptop still recording and a stack of VHS tapes, and Ayesha begins playing them while Larry inspects the rooms. One tape follows Herman, who receives an experimental ocular implant after losing an eye in a car accident and is told the device records everything he sees. Another follows a mountain biker who comes across a blood-covered woman pleading for help in a state park. A documentary crew enters an Indonesian cult compound to record the group's activities. Two brothers film their lakeside house with a camera strapped to their dog, Tank, while their parents are away.

- On July 10, 2013, critic Rex Reed drew controversy by admitting in a scathing review that he had walked out of V/H/S/2 at the end of the first segment, yet he still criticized later segments, describing "Slumber Party Alien Abduction" as a sleepover invaded by psycho kidnappers rather than aliens.
- The part in the film's first short was originally written with James Rolfe in mind, but he had to decline it because he was working on Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie.
