Plot summary
Julia Banks moves into the house of David Connover, whom she is engaged to marry, and his daughter Lily. David's ex-wife Tessa is Lily's mother, and she cannot accept the end of the marriage. Her own mother, Helen, called Lovey, is cold and demanding. Tessa takes Julia's phone and reads her private photographs and details, including a restraining order against Michael Vargas, a violent former boyfriend, that has expired. Posing as Julia online, she makes contact with Michael.
