Plot summary
Tolly Devlin is fourteen when he watches four men beat his father to death. He vows revenge and recognizes one of them, Farrar. Farrar is arrested and imprisoned for life before Tolly can reach him. Tolly becomes a petty criminal and safecracker. Years later, while in prison himself, Tolly learns Farrar is dying. He gets into the medical ward and obtains the names of the other three killers from Farrar just before he dies.
