Plot summary
Dax Winslow is a Harlem streetball coach who works at a shoe store and spends beyond his means to keep his star player, Casper, and his girlfriend, Jess, content. His longtime rival Mookie turns up and takes Casper and the rest of the roster for his own team, leaving Dax without players or a place to live. Searching the courts for anyone who will join him, Dax watches an older man named Uncle Drew outplay a group of younger players and asks him to suit up. Drew agrees on one condition: his old teammates have to be brought back together. The two set off in Drew's van to find them, starting at a church where Preacher now leads a congregation.
