Plot summary
Mike Flaherty practices law in New Providence, New Jersey, where his office is barely staying afloat, and he volunteers as the high school wrestling coach. He keeps the depth of his money trouble from his wife Jackie and their daughters. Leo Poplar, a client with early dementia, has no relatives the court can locate, so Mike asks a judge to name him Leo's guardian, a role that pays a monthly stipend, and settles Leo into a senior care facility. Leo's grandson Kyle then arrives from Columbus, Ohio, hoping to live with his grandfather, and Mike and Jackie take him in instead. Kyle, a strong wrestler, joins Mike's losing team and makes it a contender. His mother, Cindy, is in rehab.
