Plot summary
Patty Mitchell drives a taxi and almost hits a man who steps off a corner into her path. His head is bleeding and he has no memory of who he is. She offers to drive him to a hospital, then pulls over to look through what he is carrying: a hatband with two initials on it, theater tickets, and a matchbook from a hotel bar called the Blue Room. At the police station they read that the producer Robert Dilling has been murdered; at a tailor shop a radio bulletin names Dilling's chauffeur, Dave Rennick, as the man wanted for it.
