Plot summary
Viswanathan Menon, a retired Supreme Court Chief Justice, returns home with his wife to spend Vishu with the family. The weekend plans fall apart when his grandson Arun Kumar, a medical student in Bangalore, is named in the killing of a fellow student. SP Antony Punnekkadan, who nurses a grudge against Menon's children, moves to arrest Arun. Arun hides, and Antony pulls him out of the hideout. The family brings in criminal lawyer Ramesh Nambiar, who secures bail. Doctor Vinod Bhaskar means to give evidence against Arun, and Karinkal Peethambaran, a thug the family has engaged, abducts him. A poor trader named Devan, who was at the scene, is held for the killing. Devan's mother and sister come to Ramesh and say Antony has framed him. Ramesh agrees to argue the case.
