Consenting Adults (1992) on Netflix

Plot summary

Richard Parker writes music, and he and his wife Priscilla have a settled suburban home. Eddy and Kay Otis move in next door, and the two couples become close friends. Kay sings the blues, which catches Richard's ear, while Eddy takes an interest in Priscilla. Eddy takes risks and treats rules casually, and he needles Richard for living too carefully. The Parkers and the Otises spend a lot of time together, travel, and spend freely. Over dinner at a restaurant, Eddy proposes that the couples swap wives for a single night. Richard thinks it is wrong, but Eddy keeps at it.
