Plot summary
In New York City, Danny, a young Polish-American, takes a call from his brother Darren, who is in jail and asks him to deliver a briefcase. The line cuts out before he says what is inside. Darren's employer pays Ellie to drive Danny; she needs the money for a fresh start. At a subway station, Danny trades the briefcase for the bag of a woman who roughly matches the description, and he spots the mistake only as his train pulls away. The woman and the case are gone when he returns. Ellie wants nothing to do with him until she works out that neither of them will be paid. They join forces, and Ellie calls her contact to promise delivery and demand an equal share. A prescription bottle in the bag points them to a suburban address.
