Plot summary
Priya Sethi works nights at a Mumbai call center, where she answers customers in an American accent and calls herself Jennifer David. Her father, Rajeev, dislikes her embrace of American ways and expects her to go through with her arranged marriage to Vikram, a wealthy man from Mumbai. As Jennifer, Priya phones Granger Woodruff in San Francisco about fraudulent charges on his credit card. The pair connect over the phone and she agrees to a meeting in San Francisco. At the meeting place, he does not recognize her; when they cross paths as she checks out of the hotel, she does not reveal that Jennifer is her. He asks her to dinner.
