Plot summary
Takeshi Tanaka writes for a weekly magazine and gets the chance to reopen the case of the Tako family, an elite businessman, his wife and their small daughter, all killed a year earlier with no progress since. He looks up the people who knew the family and records what they tell him. Their memories describe a household that does not match the picture-perfect image the couple presented to the world. The people he interviews are no plainer: each lets out a hidden nature of their own. Tanaka has a private burden as well, since his younger sister Mitsuko has been arrested for child abuse.
