Plot summary
Danny is a poor man of Mexican heritage in the coastal area of California, just outside Monterey. His grandfather leaves him two houses. Pilon and the rest of his poor, idle friends have no homes of their own, so they move in with Danny and soon take advantage of him. One of the group, the Pirate, is putting money aside, and Pilon wants the savings for himself.
