Plot summary
Seven-year-old Liam has lost his birth mother and treats Sarah, his father's new wife, coldly at the secluded country house where the three of them have come to stay. Cory Morgan tries to talk with his son about accepting her as part of the family. Inside, the family finds plates of spoiled food and used linens, and takes it that someone had been living there. Officer Hawkings comes out and says a break-in is not something he can act on, though he leaves his card so Sarah will feel safer about staying. Sounds in the night send the couple to look around the property, and they find that Liam is gone.
