Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Sonic the Hedgehog writer Patrick Casey talked to Warner Bros. about the film but walked away over creative differences, because he insisted the human characters could not be the protagonists and that, he said, was not what the producers wanted to hear.
- Nothing was left to the actors' imagination on set: animators stood by during filming so the cast could improvise, and puppeteers worked figures of Tom and Jerry built to the characters' exact size, which gave the crew their framing and the animators their lighting cues.
