Plot summary
Tom, an advertising agency editor from Montreal, travels to the Quebec countryside for the funeral of Guillaume, his boyfriend. He stays at the family dairy farm, where Guillaume's widowed mother Agathe has no idea that her son was gay or that Tom was his lover. Guillaume had told her he was dating Sarah, a coworker of theirs. Agathe is angry that Sarah is not coming. Guillaume's brother Francis runs the farm; he knew the truth about Guillaume and about Tom. Away from Agathe, Francis makes clear through threats that Tom is not welcome, yet insists he stay for the funeral and keep it from Agathe.
