Plot summary
Alain Getty is an automation engineer who takes a job in southern France and moves with his wife Bénédicte to a suburb of Toulouse, where he develops a flying web-cam for Richard Pollock's technology company. After a presentation goes well, he invites Richard and Alice Pollock to dinner. The couple arrives late, Alice insults her hostess and her husband, and Richard takes her home early. That night Alain finds a lemming lodged in the kitchen sink, and a veterinarian confirms the animal belongs to a species that does not live wild in France. When Alice visits Alain at his office the next evening, she says Richard once tried to kill her, then tries to seduce him. Alain refuses and tells Bénédicte nothing.
