Plot summary
Lara Jean writes letters to the boys she has feelings for, then hides them in her closet. One is addressed to Josh Sanderson, a childhood friend who dated her older sister Margot until Margot broke up with him before college. The letters go out, and at school Peter Kavinsky tells her he received his. When Josh approaches with his own letter, Lara Jean panics and kisses Peter. She later meets Lucas, another recipient, and realizes the rest were mailed too. Peter suggests they pretend to date so his ex-girlfriend Gen will be jealous and Josh will believe Lara Jean is over him. Lara Jean agrees after they set rules.
