Plot summary
Cyrus Kriticos, a ghost hunter, and Dennis Rafkin, his psychic assistant, lead a team that tracks a spirit to a junkyard and captures it. Cyrus's nephew Arthur, a widower with two children, Kathy and Bobby, is short of money; the lawyer handling the estate, Ben Moss, tells him the family has been left a mansion. Arthur moves in with Kathy, Bobby and their nanny, Maggie. Dennis, posing as an electrical technician, arrives at the same time and is let inside. The walls are glass, cut with Latin phrases that Dennis takes for protection spells, and twelve ghosts sit imprisoned in basement cells. Pairs of spectacles let a wearer see them. Kalina Oretzia, who wants the ghosts set free, appears at the house.
