Plot summary
Larry Ballentine is on trial for murder, and from the witness stand his account reaches back to his marriage to Greta, a woman with money who will not let him go. He becomes involved with magazine writer Janice Bell. When Greta learns of it, she buys him a share of a business in Los Angeles and a home in Beverly Hills, and Larry leaves Janice without a word. At the office his partner Trenton scolds him for neglecting a rich client. Verna Carlson, an employee who has been stringing Trenton along, shows him a letter and lets him think Larry wrote it. Larry lets Verna seduce him, and Greta finds out again.
