They Shoot Divas, Don't They? (2002) on Netflix

Plot summary

A rock singer from the 1980s is determined to steady a long and troubled career that keeps losing ground. She hires Jenny, a younger woman who seems to be the perfect employee. Jenny is pleasant, helpful, and quickly works her way into the singer's daily routine. Underneath that helpful exterior, though, Jenny has a private reason for wanting to be close to her new boss. She blames Sloan McBride for ruining her mother's singing career and for the suicide that followed. Convinced that Sloan destroyed her family, Jenny is seeking revenge. The assistant's job gives her exactly the access she needs, and she is prepared to go to extreme lengths to humiliate the woman who hired her. Sloan, unaware of the hidden agenda, believes she has finally found an ideal assistant.
