Plot summary
Calvin Lewis works as a baggage handler at an airport alongside his father and elder brother Frank. He is attracted to Izzy, a flight attendant, but finds it hard to talk to her. Calvin constantly fears that he is dying; his doctor sees him as a hypochondriac and urges him to attend a cancer support group to gain a different outlook. There he meets Skye Aitken, a British teenager with terminal cancer. She shows an immediate interest in him, and even though Calvin tries to explain that he does not have cancer, the two become friends. Skye has a list of experiences she wants before she dies, and Calvin offers to help her complete it. He is initially annoyed by her blunt and unpredictable way, but he comes to value their friendship.
