Plot summary
Susan Brown is raising her daughter Christy on her own. Her husband, a police detective, died some time ago. News of a recent kidnapping in the area makes Susan reluctant to leave Christy by herself while she takes an out-of-town trip. Teri Simmons, a neighbor, offers a solution: she will check on Christy and stay in the house overnight. Susan accepts and goes. Then Christy disappears, and the details resemble those surrounding the death of Susan's husband. Christy is the only family she has left. Susan hurries back, and to bring her daughter home she must face the old wound that she has kept closed.
