Trailer

Plot summary

June Leigh has cut herself off from the outside world and lives alone in her late grandmother's dilapidated South Bronx apartment, agoraphobic and anxious, watching the derelict neighborhood from her fourth-story window through the blistering Summer of Sam. Her estranged friend Margot visits and is shocked at her depressive state; Margot helps clear the apartment, and when she tries to get June to go outside, June has a panic attack. Margot gives her a .38 caliber gun. The intercom buzzes through the day and nobody is there when June answers. June asks her publishing house for an advance and is refused; they want something new, and her attempt to write a novel stalls.
