The Wall of Shadows (2020) on Netflix

Plot summary

Kumbhakarna lies in the Himalaya and is the holiest of mountains for the Sherpa people, for whom climbing it is a taboo. A Sherpa family breaks that taboo so that money from a Himalayan expedition can pay for their son's education and cut the boy from their tradition. The family accompanies a Western expedition whose members count among the world's leading alpinists. Those climbers plan to take on the East Wall of the mountain. No climber has ever climbed that face before. The young Sherpa boy and an experienced mountaineer from the West meet at the foot of the sacred mountain.
