Plot summary
Ravish Kumar, senior executive editor at NDTV, is followed through his working days in the studio and the field. He builds each prime-time bulletin on research, verified evidence and interviews, and he criticizes the Indian government and its ecosystem. Much of the country's television news has moved toward polarized, populist content, and channels that carry that line are labeled Godi media. Kumar and his team discuss what to cover and check facts before he goes live, while rival anchors treat criticism of the government as treason. Journalists keep leaving the network as revenue and ratings fall, and tax raids and refusals of loans have hit media houses critical of the ruling party. Kumar is filmed with his wife and young daughter, who fears for his life, and at public events where audiences heckle and applaud him.

- Shooting without a script over two years produced so much footage that Vinay Shukla had to leave most of it out, and he regrets being unable to show Ravish Kumar's whimsical, humorous side, which did not fit the documentary's mood.
- Vinay Shukla decided early on not to focus on other prominent NDTV journalists, drawn instead to Ravish Kumar because he sensed Kumar was at a crossroads in his career, tired of being a hero.
