Plot summary
Bill Schmidt and Martha Wayne live with their young son Hal in a small Connecticut farmhouse owned by Martha's father. One snowy winter Saturday, two of Bill's former army friends, Mike Nickerson and Tony Rodriguez, arrive. The three men served in the same platoon in Vietnam a few years earlier and later stood against each other at a court-martial. Bill has never explained the court-martial to Martha, or what happened in Vietnam.
