Plot summary
Stephen regains consciousness chained to the ceiling of a warehouse in Lithuania, facing interrogators who tell him he was part of a kidnapping. A far-right group has taken the Russian Foreign Minister and intends to execute him live on the internet in ninety minutes. The interrogators believe Stephen, an ex-soldier, is the one person who knows where the minister is being held, but Stephen has amnesia and cannot recall the location or his own part in the abduction. Because time is running out and their permission allows any means necessary, they set about forcing his memories back to the surface, work that takes all of them into dark places.
