Plot summary
Balthazar, Melchior and Gaspard ride toward Bethlehem to honor the infant Jesus. Before they reach the stable, a strange miracle catches the three travelers in a space and time warp and sets them down in 2001, each in a different corner of the world. Taking the displacement as Divine Will, they carry on with their mission and find one another again in Paris, where the three of them become a media sensation. There they cross paths with a young woman, Macha, and with Jo and Hoeder, whom the kings take for the Mary, Joseph and Herod of their own day. Macha, they are sure, is the one who will bring them to the child they seek.
